Plainly: we are an independent consultation practice, not Herzing University or its IRB; the free application review is a reading, not a promise; packages are quoted in writing as fixed fees; your project stays yours; and the board's decision is always its own. The rest of this page says the same things at the length a terms page needs.

1. Who we are
herzingirb.com is operated by an independent consultation practice ("the practice", "we"). The practice is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for Herzing University or its Institutional Review Board, and nothing on this site or in our work is the university's guidance. Herzing University and associated names and marks are trademarks of their respective owners, used only to identify the institution whose review process is discussed. Using this site or engaging the practice means you accept these terms.
2. What this site's content is
The pages of this site describe the IRB process in general terms and the practice's own way of working. They are general information, not legal, regulatory or institutional advice, and they are not a substitute for Herzing's current IRB handbook, submission portal or the board's own instructions, which govern and change between editions. Where we name a form, a prerequisite or a route, verify it against the current source before relying on it. The interactive instruments on the site — the folder pass, for example — read completeness, not outcomes.
3. The free application review
The free application review is a written first reading of where your folder stands, offered without charge and without obligation. It is the practice's opinion of completeness and likely path, given what you tell us; it is not an assurance that the board will read the folder the same way, and it does not create an engagement. You may take the reading and file on your own.
4. Engagements, quotes and fees
Work is engaged by written quote for one of the practice's named packages — Determination & Plan, The Complete Folder, or Full Handover — each a fixed fee for the scope described in the quote, with no hourly billing. A quote holds for the period it states. If the scope genuinely changes after engagement — another site, a change in the design after the determination — the practice will say so in writing and agree any change before doing further work. Payment terms are stated in each quote. Fees are for the practice's work; they do not buy, and cannot buy, an outcome from the board.
5. Your project stays yours
The study, the data and the findings are yours from start to finish. The practice handles the IRB process around them — the determination and plan, the documents, the submission and the replies — and does not conduct the research, collect the data, or author the findings. Every document prepared for your folder becomes yours on delivery, in every version. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us about the project and for conducting it as approved.
6. The board's decision is its own
No one outside an IRB can promise its determination, its path, or its timing, and the practice does not. Statements on this site about what boards "usually" read or return are descriptions of experience, not guarantees. The practice is not responsible for the board's decisions, calendar or requirements, or for changes to them.
7. Your obligations when you engage us
You agree to give us accurate information about the project and the people named on it, to hold any approvals your program or site requires, to complete your own training requirements, and to conduct the project only as the board approves it. You agree not to submit documents we prepare as anything other than what they are — the IRB folder for your own project.
8. Testimonials and figures
Testimonials on this site are used with permission, identified by first name, initial and stage, and describe individual experiences. The practice's track-record figures are its own records. Neither is a promise about any other folder.
9. Limits of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the practice's liability in connection with this site or an engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement, and the practice is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss arising from the board's decisions or timing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes
These terms may change; the date at the top shows the current version, and engagements are governed by the terms in force when their quote was accepted. Questions about these terms go to hello@herzingirb.com. How your details are handled is on the privacy page.
